LTS-V Please!

You know, you can get S65 and XJR, why not a Big, monster yet shouty cadillac saloon?

I wish the rear window was a bit more vertical so that the c pillar would be more trapezoidal and less triangular. It would look a lot more classic. But I could get over that. Can't wait to see the rest.

rear end roof line/window profile looks to follow that of the Elmiraj

on the front or rear? either end I don't see it. The 7-Series looks to have more of a rear overhang than here

Are you wanting to buy one?

If I had the money yes I would buy one. I want the car though because Cadillac needs a halo car to return its prestige in the auto industry.

I nitpick on this, the LTS won't be a halo vehicle, it will be a flagship. A halo would be a mid-engine twinturbo 4.5L V8 with DCT Caddy coupe ;)

A full size Caddy sedan makes a lot of sense considering sales of full size SUVs are declining and are slowly falling out of fashion.

Why introduce the four door Elmiraj first? If Cadillac has decided to replace it's totally impractical but fashionable Escalade SUV with a more practical sedan, why not let the fashionable/impractical two door Elmiraj create a stylish halo above the "run of the mill" four door?

You mean 'spied for first time in prototype form'. It was spied in mule form (wearing Caprice sheetmetal) at the end of August.

They are looking to take on the S-Class and 7 Series, a coupe doesn't make much business sense for that. And Cadillac hasn't decided to replace the Escalade with a car, they are introducing a full size sedan as a new model... the Escalade just got an entirely new model - inside and out, underneath and in the engine bay. A full size sedan is far away from being a full size SUV replacement.

Who is the Escalade impractical for? If you make the money to afford one why settle with just a Tahoe? Or even just an Acadia.

The decline of SUV sales has nothing to do with this new Omega based model, this is Cadillac's portfolio expansion plans. Don't expect 'gran' coupes and X6 competitors, Cadillac has made it clear that they will compete where is it a worthy area to compete. 3rd gen SRX, compact CUV on Alpha, a Lambda II based fullsize CUV, ATS-V, ATS wagon and/or convertible maybe, CTS-V, this fullsize Omega based sedan, and rumors of a roadster based on the same platform as the sub-Camaro coupe Chevy wants (BRZ competitor).

A more practical version of the american four door sedan was introduced in the sixties and sold well into the early eighties. They called 'em station wagons before they were replaced by the mini-van.

The undoing of both body styles was the fact that both the 'wagon and "the Van" represented undying loyalty to family and symbolized the death of the "single life" of the individual who drove one. It wasn't until flashey rappers' and they're posses made large truck based family movers fashionable.......... "This is for the Lincolns and Cadillac's, with the tens and the twelves-bumping-in-the-back....."

It's a matter of time, without rapper intervention, that the car based kiddie-mobiles will be exposed as "practical means to transport my offspring" and suddenly become uncool.

Cadillac is in a position (in my mind, and others) to be the North American Luxury brand of choice and chosen internationally because it has a unique flavor (owing to it's pushrod valvetrain)!?

lol so my 65 year old uncle bought an Escalade because he likes Tupac? That's the thing with stereotypes...

This doesn't have to do with the practicality of a sedan vs SUV. As I already said why Cadillac is building this LTS. This sedan isn't going to be the typical family car either like the wagons of the 80's.

I would not say people choose Cadillac because of GM's pushrod engines, how many people do you think care about OHV when purchasing a Cadillac? And that only applies to the current CTS-V (and your discontented Escalade). Everything else is (dual) overhead cam.

Again, this car is not an Escalade replacement. The 'Sclade will be around until 2020 as a BOF, after that maybe it will switch to unibody, but it will always be a big boy in the line up.
